This Author Was A Role Model To Millions, You Don’t Want to Miss This Interview!

Maya Angelou passed away in 2014 but, rather than mourn her death, we’d like to remember her amazing life. Born on April 4th, 1928, Angelou was an inspiring figure in the Female and African-American communities, although her stories have affected generation upon generation of readers despite their gender or race. Her writing career spans over 50 years and includes poetry, plays, journalism, and seven auto-biographies including the internationally renowned I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings.

Angelou was a role model to millions, but she also had an interesting conversation with Tupac Shakur while he was filming Poetic Justice. Shakur was dealing “a big row with another young man,” when Angelou (who did not know who Shakur was) gave him some moving advice… it’s hard not to feel the power of her words as she speaks. Here she recounts the story to George Stroumboulopoulos!

How has Angelou’s legacy impacted your life?
